I Remember The Time
I have been asked countless times how long it takes me to create a tapestry and “I don’t know” seems to always be the answer. Well, I have started a new one today. It is still in its infancy. Hopefully, I remember to click the chronometer every time I stop and start. Stay tuned.

As The World Turns
One person here, another person there. Met with another lead today. I also visited Miami Design District for the very first time. Gee, I don’t know what took me so long. It was an exciting moment but someone failed to tell me that they are closed on Sundays. Next time, check www.miamidesigndistrict.net. I scouted some exciting places and will be visiting them next weekend. I mean, a girl got to work leaving the weekends for the extra curriculum activity. Looking forward for the moment.

Hitting The Streets
I am doing some research on selling in consignment. So, I hit a posh street today in search of that perfect store but all I found was wedding and more wedding dresses. I guess I needed to drive north and not south?! There are some promising leads.

For Your Eyes Only!
I have been navigating the globe and my soul. I needed to unwind – too much time taking needless turns, get some things straight and put priorities in order. So, I decided to take some time off and come back in a few with a fresh perspective and outlook. I am currently working on a few things which I will share with you in a bit; hopefully sooner than expected. Much Love!

Thoughts
Creating is simple; it is as clear as water, a day at the park. Describing the creation is as complex as a can of sardine and enigmatic as an amoeba!

What Being Up To
I have been preparing for the store. I spent the weekend taking pictures of the items and playing with different mediums. All look perfect. I am shooting for next two weeks to have at something up.

Random Thoughts

I mean talking about making things up. This paint was nowhere close to what it looks today when I begun it. First, it was the vital colors that went off cue. So, I applied a few more coats and it finally got to where I wanted it. Then nightmare struck, paint splashed everywhere, and I had to come up with ways to either cover them up or incorporate them into the design; hence the little circles. It actually reminds me of stained designer glass.

The Ballet Dancer

How appropriate! You can take this bag anywhere and it complements any color: yellow, green, purple, red, black or brown. The front of the bag off course is my design and it is made of cotton with a little accent of silk on the back. The top/back is adorned with hand stitched red beads. This bag is to dye for. I personally would buy it for myself.

The building of the store is taking shape. Tonight, I finally completed all the cases and the pillows. Will have to put them together and take the pictures. I have also taken pictures of some the bags. No talk on the tapestries for now.

The BrokenFace
My Brush With Ceramics
I was in the mood to learn a new medium. So, I signed up for ceramic classes at our Community College.
It was a challenge because I really hate mud, especial sticking my hands in it. Since I was eager to learn, I immediately dove into it. I was excited. I wanted to do this and do that; I was so into it that I conjured up a scenario to transfer a few of my drawings to ceramic.

Wait! I was dreaming way to high; I was yet a master on the subject. Still, it did not stop me from trying.

A Hat On a Bag

It was always intended to be a pillowcase. Now, it depends on where it will land; on a head or on a bed.

Fabric Without a Direction
There are two sides to this bag, none like peas in a pod. There is no right side or wrong side but the correct side for you. Whatever makes you feel good; whatever brings you joy. Use the yellow side with a yellow dress and the red side with a red dress depending on the day and the mood out.
This too was a fabric without a direction. I thought it would end up as pillowcase but in the end, after sizing it up, I did a U turn and made it into a bag. It turned out just perfectly gorgeous.
A day in a park, not! A day at your best friend’s house, delicious.

The Making of The Tapestry
This is a much larger painting that it appears. It was a challenge to put it together because the fabric never stretched prior to painting. It was up and down with the paint bruch … Once completed, it was lined to make it thick and then sewed. I broke a few needles a couple of times but as long as it is not my finger, I just keep on going.
The Making of The Jewelry
I have been buying and collecting beads for a while, just for the heck of it; just because I wanted to keep myself occupied, try some other medium, challenge myself and try something new.
I had no idea what I was going to do with them. I did not know what color and how to put together, if to use thread or wire, which hock... I was totally lost.
Their arrangement was fascinating and the use of the tools was even more challenging.

Beautiful Seat Covers
Experimenting. I needed to protect my chairs and instead of buying the covers, I made them. What a beautiful concept. They are 3 groups of 2.
First Decorative Pillow

I just completed my first decorative pillow. The case was done on June 6, 2008; it only took me a year but I am ecstatic.
