Flea Market Findings

I don't always hit the flea market but when I do, I try to find items that speak to me. I rarely find a think but check out what I was able to grab on Saturday and all for just seven bucks.

A vintage jacket that may or may not have a different journey once I totally lay my hands on it. I just like to change things and give me signature. I grabbed it just for its design and color, it is blue after all. Who would think a fabric used to adorn a home, could also be used for a jacket, how cool is that?

Not that I really needed a make-up bag. I am a minimalist in that regard but bought it to serve as a storage for my world of bracelets once they are completed and also as a added decor on many future projects. Art direction in motion.

I am a scarf person. I live for scarf. I have an assortment of them and just found a little corner on the drawer for it. I am pretty sure I will wear it sometimes but bought it mostly for what you will see below,

Voila, Eiffel Tower, Paris.

Call me crazy!

An Assortment of Colors

One of my weakness is that I am never satisfied with only one thing. I learn it and then begin to think about ways to recreate it, make it in different colors so to please everyone. Let's face it, we all don't think or dress alike, or have the same taste. So, based on that alone, I like to give everyone a variety to pick from. Many others have been made since that I learned that very first piece and hope to unveil soon. Remember, these are very intricate pieces and it can take up to four weeks to complete one, slowly, step by step, one hole at a time.

Gray and black will make an elegant piece

Blue and white will do for night and/or day

Blue, red, gold, purple... so many to pick from.

Shoping Palooza

The ladies came to shop and shop they did. Although, the rain kept some away but the few that showed up, went in a shopping palooza. It was a lot of fun. The food and drinks were also great.

Jewelry in display.

Selection, selection…

Can’t complaint about the turned. It was great!

Moving On Up To The…

And I am moving on up to the East Side… Nope, I am not the Jefferson’s. It is the in and outs of readying for an event.

My schizophrenic work table. Yes, I am even surprised I am able to find a thing or got anything done but this is my “normal”.

Caribbean Queen

From red to yellow to green, the Caribbean Queen necklace matches the vibrant colors of Summer. The challenge was remembering to place the colors in the correct sequence and not misstep.

Green Snake

I decided to take flat spirals to new height. I was tired of making the bracelets and decided to create a line of elegant necklaces and earrings to go along with it while paying attention to the color combinations. I just finished working on this beautiful necklace.

The Many Colors of Spiral Bracelet

I liked my spiral bracelet so much that I decided to make others. Many and many more in different forms. I really didn't know how they were going to turn out but gave it a try anyway. The challenge was to coordinate and match each of the colors in a suitable way. I din't want them to come out just like bracelets but wanted to bring some elegance to each. I combined different colors and they turned out amazing!

Beading Part Duex, The Necklace

I made the bracelet so obviously I had to make a necklace to ago along with it. I created a necklace using the same design. It was kind of challenging at beginning as I was trying to figure out how it would come up. I actually beaded each spiral roll into another just as the bracelet but learned soon that it would not curve, as there was no elasticity, around the neck. Had to rearrange everything and redid the necklace. It turned out beautifully!

Beading, The Making of a Bracelet

I stumbled into beading one day when I found myself looking for a new store since the one I usually bought beads from, closed down. I searched the net and found Clasp on-Clasp off, The Artists Choice (www.beadneed.com). I was mesmerized by what I saw. Like one of the ladies said, "I reach a climax every time I come to the store" and I can attest to that. Love going there and love to learn new things every week. It definitely keeps me occupied.

This is the second item I have made and the first bracelet. I hope to do more and more because I have found another passion.

What you will need...

The process...

Something In The Making

Working on something interesting. It is going to take a while and hope to complete it by next week.

The pearl bead is place inside to hold it steady.

Growing by the minute. This is how far I was able to get in three hours. Judging by this, I am thinking that it will take me a total of twenty hours to finish it off.

My New Craze

As if I did not have anything else to do, now I am taking classes to learn how to bead, lacy loops… this is just a start, more is yet to come. I used red and black, and these kind of beads just for practice. Plan to use czech glass or seed beads the next time, do something exciting...
